Working with artist’s pastels can be a challenge. It can feel like drawing with a dusty log! Learning to be comfortable and to control this traditional medium can be a joy. Pastels are pure pigment and pure beauty.
Jo Thompson has been creating in pastel for decades and can give you the benefit of her experience. You will learn tips to get the most out of the medium and use pastels on various supports: paper, sanded and textured surfaces. You will learn blends, color layering, fixatives. We will also look at some of the history of pastel painting.
