To introduce students to painting with Acrylic paints.
Attendees will learn: The history of acrylic painting and differences between acrylic and oil paints; methods of drawing; basic color theory; painting techniques like blending, under-painting, and texturing.
In the first class the student will create a pencil still-life sketch or bring in a photo to create a sketch from, then create a black & white painting from that sketch. In the second class the student will create a color painting using the first black & white painting as a guide.
Supplies: Easel, Canvases, brushes, paints, palette, pencil, sketchpad. (Approx cost $80) – A detailed supply list will be provided, and Aaron Brothers Palm Desert will provide the complete kit at a significant discount (one-stop shopping!)
