Artist Danny Hughes is participating in an art exhibition at the prestigious Turchin Center for the Visual Arts at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.
The exhibition is Syntax: ‘sin-,taks, featuring contemporary artists who employ writing in the creation of images. Danny was one of four artists invited to participate, the exhibition features many original artworks from his “72 Names” series that includes Aramaic text.
“Danny’s work offers an intricate background conceptually, aesthetically and visually,” said Brook Bower, assistant curator at the Turchin Center. “This combination creates a contemplative and calming effect that is well balanced. Along with the work, Danny has also offered meditations to accompany the pieces. Visitors are able to read and then meditate on the prose he has offered.”
The exhibition runs through June 5th.
